1. FULL DAY TSITSIKAMMA TOUR

Tsitsikamma Tour, Knysna Heads
Our tour starts at the charming coastal village of Plettenberg Bay and then travels along to Nature’s Valley, a haven of tranquility and beauty. Continue up mountain passes and along river gorges on to the massive Outeniqua Yellowwood tree (which is nearly a thousand years old), Storms River Bridge and the Tsitsikamma Coastal Nature Reserve.

On the way to the Tsitsikamma we also visit the Bungi Jump Bridge which is the highest in the world at 216m. Lunch will be enjoyed at the Storms River Mouth (own account), where the river meets the sea amidst spectacular cliffs. En route back to the hotel, visit Monkeyland where you will join a guided tour conducted by an experienced game ranger who will show you many species of primates as well as a large variety of forest dwelling birds.

Return back to the hotel late this afternoon.

2. HALF DAY OCEAN SAFARI TOUR

Today we embark on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. We take in the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to Hout Bay, where you may choose to join an optional boat cruise to Seal Island. From here we drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breathtaking coastal drives, where you will board a funicular to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans as well as have spectacular views over False Bay. We enjoy lunch near here (not included – own account) before continuing to Simonstown, the naval base, and visiting the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach. En route back we stop at the world renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens before arriving at your hotel for overnight.

3. SUNSET PADDLE CRUISE AND DINNER TOUR

For a unique cruise and dining experience - with a modern, hip and trendy twist - The Paddle Cruiser offers evening (18h15 departure) cruises. This is the only paddle-driven vessel in South Africa and is a unique dining venue in Knysna. Turn your evening meal into a special occasion - depart at sunset, cruise to the famous Knysna Heads at twilight and return under the stars and twinkling lights of the town. Dinner is a 3-course Mediterranean buffet, graded as a 4 star restaurant by the SA Tourism Grading Council - the only floating restaurant in South Africa with this grading.

The cruise price excludes transfers from the hotel as well as drinks during your meal.

4. FULL DAY OUDTSHOORN TOUR

After a spectacular drive over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass, we enter the red semi-desert of the Little Karoo. We start with a short tour of the town and then go on to the Cango Caves for a tour. 29km from Oudtshoorn, at the head of the picturesque Cango Valley, lay the spectacular underground wonder of the Klein Karoo - the Cango Caves. Situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the well known Wartburg Mountains, you will find the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations. Enjoy a visit to the Cango Wildlife Ranch, endangered species breeding facility extraordinaire. The oldest and biggest cheetah contact centre worldwide offers visitors the rare opportunity of interacting with our hand reared cheetahs and getting actively involved in saving this species and others from extinction. From there we continue to the Safari Ostrich Farm to see one of the world’s most peculiar birds. Enjoy a tour of the farm, a traditional ostrich lunch (own cost) and perhaps even an ostrich race.

Return back to the hotel late this afternoon.

5. FULL DAY SAFARI TOUR TO BOTLIERSKOP

You arrive at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve this morning at 09:00, where you join a ranger in open 4X4 vehicles for our morning game drive. Botlierskop is a well stocked, free roaming private game reserve, with rhino's, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, bontebuck and 26 more species, making up a total of more than 1800 animals. There is also a small pride of lions on the reserve. The meandering rivers, forest-areas, valleys, mountain tops and plateaus, ensure an adventurous scenic 4x4 route, with steep up and down hills. We return to the main lodge at 12:00 for lunch, before setting off with our professional guide on a 2 hour guided walk through diverse habitats like riverine forest, marsh areas, fynbos and plains. During the walk the guide will point out, identify and explain the medicinal use of some trees as well as identify tracks of animals ranging from the very elusive Cape clawless Otter to the Cape Buffalo.

We return to our hotel late this afternoon.

6. FULL DAY KNYSNA & PLETTENBERG TOUR

Elephant Sanctuary
Start with a scenic drive to the top of the Heads, dramatic cliffs which overlook the Indian Ocean on our side and the town and lagoon towards the distant Outeniqua Mountains on the other side. Take a 25-minute ferry ride across Knysna's magnificent estuary to a secluded nature reserve, home to a variety of wildlife, Knysna loeries, the blue crane, and one of Africa's smallest antelope, the blue duiker. On arrival, a 4x4 trailer takes you to the summit of the Western Headland for a spectacular panorama view of the Knysna Basin and the sea. After admiring the view, take a gentle walk through a Milkwood forest, into caves and along the coastline back to the restaurant. Enjoy a spectacular lunch in the Food Forest, an outside eating area set amongst the Milkwood trees. The speciality is fish cooked over an open fire.

Continue to The Elephant Sanctuary where you will join an hour long trunk in hand experience. This will involve you walking with the elephants through the forest where you will learn about these amazing animals from their habits to their anatomy. The Crags Elephant sanctuary provides a safe haven for six elephants and a platform for guest’s education and interaction (tours leave every hour and are an hour long).
